Official app of the National Sea Rescue Institute (NSRI) - The NSRI SafeTrx App allows users to register their vessel and plan their journey directly from their Smartphone.

Registering vessel and journey information is made simple through an intuitive registration process within the application. Users can easily input their contact and vessel details. They can choose from menu options to either plan and file their trip (Sail Plan mode) or activate the tracking function of the app (Track only mode).

For filing a Sail Plan, users select their vessel, enter the ETA (Estimated Time of Arrival), indicate the number of persons on board, and specify the activity type. By utilizing the built-in maps, they can set a starting point, an optional waypoint, and the final destination. Upon completion, users can initiate their journey by pressing the ‘set sail’ button.

Pressing ‘set sail’ will record the journey details with the NSRI computer server and activate position reporting in the app. Periodically, the app will send position reports to the server, automatically alerting emergency contacts 30 minutes after the journey surpasses the ETA. If needed, users can adjust trip details such as ending the journey, revising ETA, number of passengers, or destination during their voyage.

*Note: Continuous use of GPS in the background may significantly reduce battery life. Please be aware that the App is meant to be utilized as a supplementary tracking aid and should not replace traditional vessel communication or safety devices.
